Which is a better camera Nikon D70 or Canon Digital Rebel XT 350D and why?
I want to purchase a Digital SLR Camera that is cheap (less than $500) and has very good features. In other words I want a cheap camera that will give the best value for my money. I prefer Nikons or Canons.
Oops. The cameras are more expensive but I am still interested in these two cameras or similar models.
You can't do any better than Nikon or Canon cameras.
You really have to hold both in your hands and see which one fits best and which is best for your style of shooting.
That said, you can buy a new Nikon D40 with a 18-55mm lens for under $500.

The D70 is not less than $500… are you planning on getting a used one? Where are you getting it from? Let me know so I can buy a bunch and sell them for more!
I personally am a Canon person. The XT is nice… but I suggest spending a little more money and getting the XTi instead.

Mulan since the Nikon D70 is no longer being made the only ones available are used ones, I got mine for $350. Even though the XT is newer camera, I would get the D70 over the Canon anytime because it's construct sturdier & I'm planning to get a D300 or D90 eventually.
