is a Canon Power Shot SD100 adaptable to european outlets?

I am going to be going to Germany soon and i would like to take my digital camera with me, but the camera runs on charge and doesnt take batteries. I have a adapter plug that will allow me to plug american outlets into european outlets but im not sure that the voltage will work with my camera. Since european voltage is higher than american voltage, i would have to buy a voltage converter as well. Would my camera work with this voltage converter? Im not sure if it can carry the european voltage change. Please help!

Not sure about Europe, but in China I had to use an voltage converter…..Voltages are different. Most hotel rooms have voltage converters in the room……….Usually says 120V on converter

That's a fairly old camera, but of course it uses a battery. All cameras are powered by a battery, and yours is powered by a lithium rechargeable battery (NB-3L), which most likely is charged in the camera when you plug it into the electrical socket.

And for travelling all you need to use is your adapter plug which you plug into the European outlet and then plug your appliance into…so you don't have to worry about a voltage converter at all. You can use any appliance in this way as long as it's the correct country to country converter plug (which you already have).

Now, seeing that your camera is almost 4 years old…I would wonder very much if the battery is still holding a decent charge and you could either consider buying a new battery …or better still, consider upgrading the camera for a newer and better model sometime. Canon have some excellent new SD models worth considering.

Anyway, hope you have a great trip…
