Is the Canon 5D Mark II a still camera?

I love when her red dress gets blown in the wind.

It is a still camera.

It also has the ability to shoot short full-HD (1080p) video clips.

When shooting video, however, the camera is manual focus only. The quality rivals most consumer video cameras, but it is definitely still a still camera.

And I agree, she sure can wear that dress.

Why Canon changes the name of a digital camera?

A Canon digital camera "EOS Rebel" is originally named "EOS Kiss Digital" back in Japan. The true reason must be known only by the company, but what do you think are possible reasons why they changed the name when they introduce it to the U.S.? A legal problem, or the image of the name??

The reason for naming the same camera differently in different markets is to deter the "gray market".

The "gray market" is when an importer in, say, the USA, buys Canon cameras and lenses in Hong Kong for a lower price than the Canon Authorized USA importer. Since they pay less, they can re-sell them for less than the authorized importer.

The consumer thinks they are getting a "good deal" – until they need warranty service. They then discover that their warranty is only good in Hong Kong or wherever the cameras and lenses were originally purchased for import.

Although legal, the "gray market" actually harms the consumer and the legitimate sellers.

My Canon PowerShot S2 IS digital camera got the dreaded "Black Screen" & Canon wants 5 to fix it.?

Something new that is comparable is about $100 more. Would I be wasting my money fixing the old one, given that this seems to be a fairly common problem with this camera? Any suggestions for a good replacement camera. I loved that camera until it died suddenly.

Looks like you are not alone on this one!!! It seems to be a common issue. You should be able to pickup a used S2 for less than $175. Anyhow, at the link below, people were having success calling the service center and getting their image sensors replaced if there was no damage to the camera that might have caused it. Call the for a supervisor in the camera/video department at Canon (1-800-828-4040). Scroll down to Diane G's comments, I think they were the most helpful and did get an out of warranty camera repaired for free (they probably had to pay shipping one way).

Google search it if you don't find the right information there is a big chance or even a small chance that it might be on google.

If you think it might be on any video like YouTube try and searching it up there.

Or maybe try getting a friend to help you.

What's the best Canon digital camera?

I'm shopping online and right now I've narrowed it down to 3. These ones:

SD750 new for $180
SD770 new for $170
SD1100 new for $149

Of these 3 which one do you think is the best? I'm a college student, and want to mainly take artsy pictures as well as party pictures. What one's the sleekest and smallest? Also are these good prices? (I've been searching for deals.) Whatever info you can give me please tell!

My pick of those would be the SD1100

PLEASE help which camera out of these two links?

im just sat here still looking at cameras, drawn between two and cant choose here you have a say?

Here is a link that will allow you to compare the two

If you notice, the Kodak has a much better optical zoom range, 10x vs 3x and a slightly better flash. Best of all, you can shoot using either aperture or shutter speed priority modes

They are really different style cameras.

It really depends upon what you plan on shooting and how much control you want.
